Lisa Pretty's Book "Eat This with....Paso Robles Wine" is not only beautiful with fresh and wonderful new recipes but in addition you receive her expertise of wine pairings for each recipe from many of the great wineries in Paso Robles. While I have yet to try many of the recipes, the ones I have served have been thoroughly enjoyed! I Loved the Mushroom soup and the roasted tomato and pepper soup. Because we are eating more vegetarian foods, I found the Mediterranean quinoa quite tasty and easy to make!I love a cookbook that provides total meal recipes. The menus in the book created by the various chefs at the various wineries for their winemaker dinners are a unique and fabulous addition. Yes, you could make this a coffee table book but you would miss out on so much. Or you should have one for the coffee table and another for your kitchen! Now I can hardly wait for the next book!

I collect cookbooks and thought this book was absolutely beautiful. The recipes are easy to follow and are delicious. Also, paring wines to the recipe is especially helpful for us novices. I also enjoyed the information on all the wineries.
We were able to get our hands on one of these and when I skimmed through the book I was stoked on how how many recipes there are but even happier to see how Lisa paired those recipes with the wines of Paso Robles! Can't wait to get started on some of these pairings...great pics and easy to follow recipes!! Cheers!
This book has it all - recipes, wine pairings, menus, and beautiful photography. I love to browse through it and come away hungry. The recipes I have tried work perfectly. Another plus is the way the book is organized. Hope to see future books from this author.
I love the layout of this handy cookbook! Lisa Pretty not only supplies recipes with easy-to-follow directions and photos, she offers lots of helpful hints and wine pairings for every creation. You'll find chapters on Nibbles & Bites, Small Plates, Salads, Entrees, Sides, and Desserts. My favorites include Smoked Salmon Lettuce Petals (so unique; so easy), Chorizo-stuffed Peppers (from Small Plates), Beef Bourguignon (from Soups, stews & chili), and Chocolate Cheesecake (from Desserts), all of which are beyond amazing.
One of the greatest wine regions gets it's due! The beauty of this book (beyond it's sheer aesthetic) is that it educates, informs - and entertains. The recipes are easy to understand, and how wonderful is it to learn about pairings? I tend to drink what I like, regardless of what I cook. Sometimes it works, but quite often it doesn't. Lisa solves this issue once and for all. It's obvious an enormous amount of work went into pulling this together, and I look forward to trying some new wines - and eating some awesome food.
"Eat This With Paso Robles Wine" recipes and dishes have made my holiday meals the topic of conversation. Every event I have attended since receiving this cookbook I have taken along a dish I created from this lovely cookbook. The pairings of wine, both dessert wines and dinner wines, were perfect for the dishes. I made both of the apple desserts, and everyone has raved about them. The presentation of the desserts looked as if they took hours to create, yet were simple, unique, and delicious. The appetizers are also unique and lovely to serve at home as well as parties!
Not only have I found these recipes to be great for entertaining, they are well received by my family for our weekly dinner nights. This is truly a great gift for anyone, whether a wine lover or a foodie, or both!
I can not thank Lisa enough for this wonderful book, her gift of wine pairing expertise, and for the opportunity to give a lovely cookbook containing amazing pictures, and a bit of history of Paso Robles' wineries, to my friends and family.
So often wine pairings begin with the wines and suggest food to accompany them. Lisa's book is a collection of scrumptious recipes and menus with wide appeal that stand on their own. Paso Robles' terroir and climate provide ideal conditions to grow diverse varietals, giving Lisa an abundance of wines from which to choose her pairings. For me it's great that she offers more than one pairing for each dish. Her palate is so reliable that pairings can be trusted, even by wine enthusiasts. Time to go cook up one of her specialties!
