Journeyman The Force of the Gods Part I eBook Mark Tuson Reviews
Author showed no creativty with the abundance of profanity. I couldn't get into the story. The spelling, punctuation and grammar seemed better than many of the books I have read.
Enjoyed the book, author did a good job showing the development of the character, for a change we had a smart, intelligent character who is also emotional as well. Very interesting magic system, combining current scientific technological understanding and archaic beliefs with out clashes... loved the epic battle....
It's unexpectedly good book. Its just a shame that book two is not out yet. Good work from the author,it keeps me onthe edge.
Alot of it was contrived as it moved along. Everything was too convenient. Makes you sort of smile. But good fun. I like that the hero wasn't constantly desperate like some in adventure books.
This is a decent writer, with a great appreciation for magic systems, and I like his scene building. But his character development is deeply irritating. People do not accept being judged (yes quite literally judged and put on trial), and patronized, unless they have spent years, being conditioned, brainwashed into believing in the myths and rituals of a particular belief system. Most belief systems, whether religious, national, or political do not fully trust someone unless they have been steeped in the myths of a particular ideology for their entire lives.
Someone who is constantly kept in the dark (for his own good we are told), not given the most basic and most important information about this new world, makes NO friends with anyone, does not spontaneously develop the loyalty necessary to risk his life for anything.
There is NO REASON for Peter to trust the guild and the relationships he has there just make me want to stop reading. So I did.
